Skye Butterfield, MT-BC, NMT is a Board Certified Music Therapist and Neurologic Music Therapist based in California. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Oboe Performance from San Jose State University and an equivalency degree in Music Therapy from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College. As an outcome of completing her internship with the LA based private practice, Rhythm and Truth, Skye gained a vast variety of experience including working with individuals in memory care, rehabilitation, mental health across the life span, acute psychiatric, as well as individuals of all ages with intellectual and developmental disabilities. In tandem with her music therapy work, Skye is one half of the music duo, Embracing Oceans. She uses her songwriting and platform as a method of reach into social justice and mental health advocacy by partnering with organizations for crowdfunding and songwriting workshops to further amplify the musical healing to the public. Outside of her musical stratosphere, Skye spends her personal time designing and creating custom lampshades, tackling unique DIY projects, and forever devouring all things philosophy.
